And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
You are on your couch right now, thinking about how much of a disappointment you have been. You have not been able to do something phenomenal with your life, it seems existence is nothing but a joke. You wonder how the others have been able to get that silicon valley job and you still haven’t even got an interview to be an assistant. Still, you have so many choices, you could decide to sit there and wallow in self-pity and pain or you could decide to get up. The former is easier said than done.
Last week, I needed to go out and it was apparent that this meeting will further boost my creative skills and personal development but, at the point, I had one million and one excuses why I shouldn’t go out again. On the one side of my thoughts, there was a battle of how I could stay home with « Netflix and chills », « wrap myself in my duvet», « the unbearable cold weather ». On the other side of my thoughts, I had a deep conviction that going out will be great hence I will meet up my objectives for the day.
Nevertheless, I spent more than one hour lamenting, contemplating and complaining. Everything was going on in my head but at some point, I just stood up! It was the first action and the others just came easily. The simple fact of rising from what seems comfortable but not productive was the first step in changing my mindset. Now the fight was more than just going out, it was an immediate force that killed the procrastinating thoughts. And the rest, I had a very wonderful evening….
Life may not always go as we plan, things may not always work in the way we hope but you have to rise, even if it means doing it over and over again. Just get up! Rise up could be applying for new jobs, rise up could be starting your business, rise up could be going back to school, rise up could pitching that new idea.
Life is about fighting, thriving and improving to best we can be. We all wouldn’t have 5th Avenue opportunities but in whatever and wherever you find yourself, the little actions you decide go a long way in changing your situation.

This is an everyday motivation piece… We all have been there and definitely, will be there again sooner or later. Kudos.
Hello sir, thank you very much for reading. It is true we all have been there but it is of greater importance knowing when to rise!
There are times when that sticky note by our bedside can truly remind us of what we are aiming at..helping us cope with the battles within..a little reminder where our eyes always seems to wander to.
Hello dear, thank you for reading and especially your contribution. Yes, we all need reminders sometimes to get us going again! You got me thinking of the book « Battlefield of the mind » by Joyce Meyer
